Don't Work Hard, Work Smart For Career Success

Once you have launched your dream career, you need to be able to work at it efficiently and balance it with other areas in your life. Here are 13 Power steps that can help you achieve total success, fast:

  1. Set goals, focus on one goal at a time, and take action, work on it until it is achieved.

  2.  Make to-do lists before you start every day and follow through, crossing out each task as you complete it.

  3. Do the most difficult things first - Review your to-do list every day and complete the most challenging task first.

  4. Delegate tasks you are not good at ... Your primary goal in your dream career is to do what YOU are good at, so delegate all other tasks, or find, swap or hire people who can help you with these tasks.

  5. Get organized, organize your work so you can do it most efficiently... file, keep away and store things in order where they can be reached easily; Dedicate specific times to certain activities and don't get distracted;  organize your work space , your work time and your work.

  6. Set up an efficient dedicated work space, this could be in your office , or if you work from home, you need to set up a dedicated work space where you can work undisturbed and, keep all your work related stuff organized.

  7. automate as much as you can... set up efficient databases for your client management; set up automated notifications and responses on your telephones; set up automated check payments through your bank if needed; Automate everything that can possibly be automated.

  8.  Bunch similar activities together or  set up an efficient system to deal with them... For instance if you need to go to the bank for several different things, plan so that you can do them all at once. Also set up efficient systems... for instance if you need any services from others, set this up, so this work is done automatically without your input.

  9.  Keep time for personal development - This is very important. This time should be separate from your regular work time. You need to dedicate at least an hour a day to personal development.

  1. Keep time for chill out - Relaxation is very important to the mind, body, spirit and to your career... all the brightest ideas, breakthroughs, creative inspirations are linked to this time, so keep time for relaxation.

  2. Keep time for family and friends... again this is very important, otherwise you are at risk of living a dis-balanced life. For instance you could dedicate your lunch time for lunch with your spouse or partner, or you could make time after dinner for strictly family time.

  3. Refer to your intuition as needed... You need to build in specific schedules for meditation and connecting with your own innerself, even if it is only 15 minutes a day, find a time to reconnect with your self.

  4. Don't be scared of taking healthy risks. Remember not taking any risk is the worst risk you are taking.
